Bruce C. Horten, MD

Medical Director - New York, NY

Dr Horten is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and neuropathology. He earned his medical degree from Duke University. He completed his residency and fellowship in anatomic pathology at Cornell University Medical College-New York Hospital, his residency in neuropathology at Stanford Medical Center, and his residency in clinical pathology at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. Dr Horten formerly served on the pathology staffs of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the University of California, San Francisco, and Lenox Hill Hospital. He has served as medical director of the New York laboratory since 1994. Dr Horten is actively involved in the development of the company’s oncology products and pathology services, and he lectures nationwide in support of these services. Dr Horten has authored more than 35 publications in peer-reviewed journals in addition to several chapters in medical textbooks.

Henry Y. Dong, MD, PhD

Director of Hematopathology and Molecular Pathology - New York, NY

Dr Dong is board certified in anatomic pathology and hematopathology. He earned his medical degree from Beijing Medical University and his PhD in molecular cell biology from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Dr Dong completed his pathology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital followed by a Vickery fellowship in surgical pathology and a James Homer fellowship in hematopathology. He has served as director of molecular pathology for the New York laboratory since 2001 and director of hematopathology since 2003. Dr Dong has played critical roles in the development of new molecular products and has published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles on hematopathology and molecular testing in prominent pathology and hematology journals.

Vatsala Bhardwaj, MD, PhD

Dr Bhardwaj is board certified in anatomic pathology and hematopathology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and received her PhD in immunology from the National Institute for Medical Research in the United Kingdom. She completed her residency in anatomic pathology at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and a fellowship in hematopathology at Cornell Medical Center. Dr Bhardwaj is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the American Society of Hematology, and the Society for Hematopathology.

Michael Broscius, MD

Dr Broscius is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Hahnemann Hospital in Pennsylvania. He completed a fellowship in oncologic surgical pathology under the direction of Dr Juan Rosai at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr Broscius is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the College of American Pathologists. His special interests include soft tissue pathology, dermatopathology, prostatic pathology, and germ cell neoplasms.

Peijie Cong, MD, PhD

Dr Cong is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematopathology. He earned his medical degree from the Fourth Military Medical University in Xi’an, China, and his PhD in molecular biology from the Cornell University Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Dr Cong completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Chicago Hospitals and completed a fellowship in hematopathology at the National Institutes of Health with Dr Elaine Jaffe.

Jiachun Kung, MD, PhD

Dr Kung is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematopathology. She earned her medical degree from the Shanghai Second Medical University in China and her PhD in biochemistry from the University of Vermont. She completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. Dr Kung was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Washington University, St. Louis, and completed a hematopathology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr Kung has authored more than a dozen publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and was a contributing author to the book entitled Manual of Molecular and Clinical Laboratory Immunology, 7th edition.

Lin Li, MD, PhD

Dr Li is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. She earned her medical degree from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in Guangzhou, China, and completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, New York. She completed a fellowship in genitourinary and general surgical pathology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine in New York. Dr Li is a member of the College of American Pathologists and the International Society of Urological Pathology. She holds a special interest in molecular and immunohistochemical markers related to prediction of therapeutic and/or prognostic value for cancer.

Maomi Li, MD, PhD

Dr Li is board certified in anatomic pathology. He earned his medical degree from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in Guangzhou, China, and his PhD in biological chemistry from the University of Michigan. He completed his residency in anatomic pathology at Yale-New Haven Hospital and fellowships in oncologic pathology and experimental pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he worked with Dr Juan Rosai. Dr Li currently holds an academic appointment at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine as a clinical associate professor of pathology. He specializes in surgical pathology of tumors of the kidney, testis, prostate, bladder, colon, breast, pancreas, and endocrine organs such as thyroid and adrenal glands. Dr Li has authored more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals.

Augusto Felix Paulino, MD

Dr Paulino is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He earned his medical degree from the University of the Philippines and completed his residency in pathology at Brown University. He completed fellowships in oncologic pathology and head and neck pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr Paulino has authored numerous publications related to tumors of the head and neck region. He is coauthor of the Salivary Glands chapter in the 3rd and 4th editions of Sternberg’s Diagnostic Surgical Pathology.

Jeffrey A. Schrager, MD

Dr Schrager is board certified in anatomic pathology and hematopathology. He earned his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire, and pursued HIV basic research as a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health. He completed his residency in anatomic pathology, followed by fellowships in hematopathology and flow cytometry, at the National Cancer Institute. Dr Schrager is a coauthor of the chapter entitled Flow Cytometric Analysis in the Diagnosis and Prognosis of Lymphoma and Chronic Leukemias in Flow Cytometry in Clinical Diagnosis, 4th edition and medical editor of Diagnostic Pathology:  Spleen, published in 2014.

C. Daniel Wu, MD

Dr Wu is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He earned his medical degree from the Taipei Medical University School of Medicine in Taiwan. Dr Wu completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Brown University-Rhode Island Hospital and was a fellow in hematopathology under the direction of Dr Jeffrey Medeiros at Brown University, followed by lymphoma expert Dr Dennis Weisenburger at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the Society of Hematopathology. Dr Wu’s special interest includes lowgrade B-cell lymphoproliferative disorders.

Yusong Yang, MD, PhD

Dr Yang is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematopathology. He earned his medical degree from Nanjing Medical University in China and his PhD in pharmacology and toxicology from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. He was a dermatology resident at the Institute of Dermatology-Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in Nanjing, China, and completed a hematopathology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He has published several articles related to endothelial cell response to oxidative stress and serum paraproteins.
